LD Projects and Project Management:
Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Freelance Artist Team Specialising in creative projects with Learning Disabled people. (June 2006 ongoing) Selected Projects:
Outsider Exchanges, a Castlefield Gallery/Venture Arts & BALTIC collaboration: Consultant and Lead Artist A collaborative studio project for mainstream and LD Artists which enabled mainstream and LD artists to collaborate and exhibit. I advised on approaches to enable LD artists to create within a gallery setting, mentored established mainstream artists on their methodologies within the project and developed a strategy for Baltic’s continued support of LD Contemporary Art. (2017-18)
Gateshead Stars: Lead Artist undertaking short residencies in specialist schools resulting in final exhibitions at Baltic. (ongoing)
Headway: Lead Artist short gallery-based residency introducing contemporary art via bespoke activities to adults with head injuries. (2013)
Arcadea/ The Hub: Lead Artist Leading a programme designed to develop the work learning disabled artists. Devising and delivering a programme of tailored and negotiated creative activities, improving independence, social circles, confidence and motor skills. (2012- ongoing)
Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens: Lead Artist Residency which facilitated the production of single subject publications with young people with autism resulting in an exhibition. (2010)
Tyne and Wear Museums: Assistant Education Officer Managing a museum based creative project encouraging the integration of a mainstream and SEN school in Sunderland. (2001-2002)
Curating and Gallery Education:
Newcastle University/BALTIC Lead Artist Supporting a research project in Enquiry Based Learning, I develop projects and activities with a researcher, teachers and their classes. (2018- ongoing)
The Late Shows: Co-ordinator, Liaising with 53 venues across Newcastle/ Gateshead to curate and co-ordinate weekend programme of late-night events. (2012-15)
